Camp Rules, Behaviors, Consequences


General Rules: Always follow C.A.R.E.


Specific Rules:
1. Do not steal or hijack.
   • Consequence:   Will be sent home (parent will be notified). 
   Police may be called.

2. Do not bring and do not smoke cigarettes (or use any tobacco products), use drugs, or drink alcohol.
   • Consequence: Will be sent home (parent will be notified).  Police may be called.
   Will be sent home. If drugs or alcohol are found in the room, or if the room
   smells of drugs or alcohol and no one confesses, ALL students in the room will be
   sent home.  Police will be called.

3. Do not fight, bother, or pester any person.
   • Consequence: Will be sent home (parent will be notified).  Police may be called.
   Time-out with a teacher or camp staff.  If it is serious sexual/physical
   harassment, student will be sent home. Police may be called.

4.  Do not leave the group at anytime without permission from the teacher.
   • Consequence: Will be sent home (parent will be notified).  Police may be called.
   Time-out with a teacher or camp staff.

5.  No PDA.
   • Consequence: Time-out with HCDB staff. If behavior is serious, parent will be
   called and student will be sent home.



Specific Behaviors:
   • School Bus Behavior:
      - Sit down quickly. MS on left side, HS on right side.
      - Stay in your seat.
      - Do not be loud or “horse around.”
      - Do not litter.
         Consequence:  You will sit or stay with a teacher until the bus ride is
         finished.

   • Cabin Behavior:
      - Do not “horse around” in the cabin.
      - No excessive or loud yelling.
      - Do not slam the door.
      - Do not touch other people’s property or “borrow” without permission from the
        owner of the item.
      - Do not play with flashlight after “lights out.”
      - Keep the cabin and the restrooms clean.
      - No visiting in other cabins (ok outside, but must ask first).
         Consequence:  To be decided by the teachers in charge of the cabin.

   • Meal Time Behavior:
      - Do not be loud or “horse around.”
      - Use good table manners.
      - Be polite at all times.
         Consequence:  Time-out with a HCDB staff or camp staff.

   • KP (Kitchen Patrol) Duty:
      - Pay attention to instructions.
      - Accept jobs given to you.
      - Do the best work you can.
      - Teamwork:  cooperate with each other.
         Consequence:  To be decided by the adults.



Time-out can mean:
- Being removed from other students and/or activity and staying with a staff member for 10 minutes.

   - OR -

- An extended amount of time removed from the group and/or activity. The amount of time will be left to the discretion of the teacher/staff member depending on the severity of the behavior, the student’s willingness to improve his/her behavior, and whether the problem has been resolved.
