I
Should… With the beginning
of a new year, and New Year’s resolutions, the phrase
“I should” has been
running through my head quite a bit.
However, in the
last few weeks it has been a different type of “I
should” message.
The one “I
should”
message that I would like to share with the HCDB Ohana is:
The tragic loss of
Jeremiah Johnson, the husband of our colleague and good friend Sara
Simmons,
and the extended absence of Grace Kaleikilo while she recuperates at
home, has
made this apparent. The
outpouring of
support, both emotional and monetary for Sara and Grace, has been
touching to
say the least. Times
like these prove to
me again and again how astonishing you all are, and I would like to
thank
you. Your kindness
and support has not
only been shown to Sara and Grace, but also to me and each other. Our time here on this earth is precious. I believe each of us has a purpose and what we do will make a difference in the lives of children and others. Let’s not wait until it is too late and end up saying, “I should.” Please know that I appreciate each and everyone of you, and thank you for the privilege of knowing you. Sydney |
