I have been hitting the Hawaiian beaches for fourteen years
now. I moved to Kauai just after college
graduation in Rochester, New York, and I have not looked back! I do not miss those long, cold winters. On Kauai, I
began my career as an elementary special education teacher. I moved to Oahu
after four years and became a teacher of the visually impaired and an orientation
and mobility specialist for Central Oahu District. I moved to the Educational Specialist Hearing/Vision
position here at the Hawaii
Center for the Deaf and
the Blind in October, 2007. All of the
teachers and students have been fantastic and very supportive. I have enjoyed learning more about Deaf
culture and ASL. Thanks for your
patience as I improve my ASL skills!
I enjoy
going to the gym and the beach and spending time with friends when not at
work. I feel very lucky to live in Hawaii and be able to
take advantage of all it has to offer. I
also love to travel around the nation and the world. I go back to New York twice a year to visit my family and
take other trips when I can. I went to Italy just before coming to HCDB and look
forward to returning to Europe soon.
