The
Diagnostic Center serves all deaf, blind,a nd deaf-blind students in
Hawaii's public schools. We have on staff an audiologist, two
specialists in blindness, an educational evaluator, a speech/language
evaluator, and a social worker.
Mostly used for assessments, the Diagnostic Team provides valuable
information to students, parents, teachers, and administrators
regarding students' levels of hearing, vision, intellectual
development, language development, speech, academic achievement, and
social and family environments.
The Team members also act as resources for schools in planning and
carrying out appropriate accommodations and special techniques to help
educate deaf, blind, and deaf-blind students to their highest potential. |
