| More About Kristin |
| I provide direct
Orientation & Mobility (O&M) instruction to students
(ages 3 -
21) on the HCDB campus. I also provide O&M
evaluations,
consultations and in-services statewide. I serve as the
National
Instructional Materials Access Center (NIMAC) State Representative and
organize and distribute braille/large print materials statewide from
HCDB repository and Library for the Blind and Physically Handicapped
(LBPH). Administratively, I plan and organize statewide meetings for the teachers of the visually impaired and help cover O&M / Teacher of the Visually (TVI) Impaired duties for the island of Kauai and Windward District. I have been working with the blind and deaf-blind at HCDB since 2003, but have been involved with blind services for 20 years (before HCDB, nine years with the Central Oahu District and six in Northern California). I was born in Misawa, Japan. I have loved being wife for 15 years and a parent for 11 years ;-) |

I really love animals of
all kinds, especially dogs, cats and horses A general football fan, my favorite team is the Washington Redskins. In my spare time, I enjoy camping at the beach, hiking, traveling to different countries, and reading Christian books/the Bible. My favorite place on the island- toss up between Sherwood Forest (Waimanalo Bay Beach Park) and the Makapuu' Tide Pools. |
