I am the state DOE
Educational Audiologist housed here at HCDB as part of the diagnostic
team. I test students from around the state for hearing loss
and other
auditory problems. I support the Itinerant Teachers for the
Hearing
Impaired in the districts who purchase and monitor FM systems on
students in the schools. At HCDB, I support teachers and the
speech
language pathologists in hearing aid and FM system issues. I
also
intake, schedule, and distribute referrals for assessment to other
members of the diagnostic team.
The 2006-2007 school year is my 12th here at HCDB.

I
have been working for children with all degrees and
causes of hearing
loss for over 20 years. I started my first sign language class 15 years
ago.
I am currently working
on my doctor of audiology degree (AuD) from Central Michigan University
online. It has been very rewarding, but also very time
consuming…so I have no hobbies. I live in the best
place in the world (Kailua, HI) and try to get to the beach a few times
a year…Lanikai beach is the best in the islands. I have
lived in Hawaii for over 25 years. I walk my 6 year old part
Husky “Kiki” every afternoon. I am
married and I have two grown
daughters.
