Prom Committee

The Prom Committee is responsible for throwing the biggest party of the year for HCDB.  From finding a site and fundraising, to ordering crowns and gifts for the royalty, to decorating and selecting party favors for the guests, the prom committee does it all.

Prom typically happens in April or May, and the organizing starts in January.   First the students brainstorm for possible dates and sites, and obtain approval from the principal.  They then contact the sites and secure the date.  They look at prom catalogs to decide on crowns for the King and Queen and gifts for the other royalty, as well as party favors for the guests and decorations for the ballroom. They decide how much money they need to host a good prom, decide on ticket prices, and research different fundraisers.  They sell tickets and  set-up for the party.  They welcome the guests as they arrive, then  enjoy the evening, until everyone leaves and they are left to clean up.  What a reward for all their hard work!
